The Department of Biotechnology at AVIT offers a multi-disciplinary curriculum that is continuously augmented by research and development. The department provides a vibrant ecosystem of well-equipped laboratories and dedicated research facilities that support life sciences enquiry across Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering, Bioprocess and Fermentation Technology, Microbiology and Immunology, Enzyme Technology, Bioinformatics, Environmental Biotechnology, Industrial and Food Biotechnology, and Nanobiotechnology.

With a strong emphasis on research in biotechnology and the environment, faculty and students engage in high-quality investigations, funded projects, and collaborative initiatives with academic and industrial partners. The department also channels its expertise into public outreach, translating scientific advances into solutions that benefit society.
