Department Overview

Established in 2008, the Department of Civil Engineering at AVIT has evolved into a vibrant center for learning, research, and innovation. Backed by a dedicated faculty from prestigious institutions, the department holds over 21 patents, reflecting its commitment to impactful, real-world research.

Our curriculum, aligned with the latest civil engineering syllabus, focuses on Planning, Design, Construction, and Management. We also offer practical exposure through state-of-the-art labs such as CAD, the Centre for Concrete Research, and the Environmental Engineering Lab. These labs support learning in key areas and complement our civil engineering software courses, ensuring students are industry-ready.

Recognised among the best civil engineering colleges in India, AVIT provides valuable hands-on experience and industry exposure through collaborations with top companies like RAMCO, CAD, and Bentley Systems. As one of the preferred civil engineering colleges in Chennai, we prepare students for both higher studies and a successful career through civil engineering courses after 12th, consultancy projects, workshops, and technical events.
