A Research-Driven Department

Established in 2008, the Department of Civil Engineering at AVIT has built a strong research ecosystem designed to foster innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and impactful technological advancements in the built and natural environment. The department provides advanced infrastructure, modern testing equipment, and dedicated research labs that support cutting-edge work in areas such as Concrete Technology, Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources, Transportation Engineering, and Sustainable Construction.

Anchored by the Centre for Concrete Research and the Environmental Engineering Lab, and reflected in a portfolio of 21+ patents, the facilities enable faculty and students to engage in high-quality research, funded projects, and collaborative initiatives with academic and industrial partners across the construction and infrastructure sectors.
