1. The Department of EEE, in association with the AVIT Alumni Association and IEI, organized a three-day Employability Enhancement Course on “Sustainable Energy and Clean Technology” from 24–26 June 2022. The program began with a guest lecture on solar energy concepts and measurement techniques.
Students then visited Inforce Solar Company to learn about solar PV installation and design procedures.
They also visited Anna Nagar West Metro Station to understand real-time on-grid solar power generation.
The program provided students with valuable hands-on exposure to solar power plant installation and sustainable energy practices.

2. The Department of EEE organized a two-week Hybrid ATAL Faculty Development Program on “Digital Twin for Electric Vehicles” from 12–23 September 2022. Experts from Malaysia, Thailand, Anna University, NIT Durgapur, Daimler AG, Siemens, and industry delivered sessions on EV design, charging technology, IoT, digitalization, and MATLAB/Simulink applications. The program included hands-on industrial visits to GIEC, AV Campus and Tri Electric Pvt. Ltd., providing exposure to EV components and manufacturing. Participants gained insights into digital twin concepts, EV modelling, battery systems, Industry 4.0, and research methodologies. The FDP concluded with a valedictory session and certificate distribution, marking a highly successful academic and industry-integrated program.

3. ISTE–AVIT, in association with the Department of EEE, organized a “Design Thinking Contest” on 13.09.2022 to celebrate Engineers’ Day. Students proposed innovative solutions for ten social issues given on the spot after a briefing on design thinking. The best teams were awarded certificates and prizes for their creative ideas.

4. The Department of EEE, in association with the AVIT Alumni Association, organized a Skill Development Program on E-Mobility on 20.09.2022, featuring alumnus Mr. Anil Chourasia, Senior R&D Engineer, Daimler-AG. He delivered an in-depth session covering EV design considerations, battery systems, safety measures, and harness design for electric vehicles. Forty students from EEE and Mechatronics actively participated and gained valuable insights into emerging E-mobility technologies.

5. On 27.09.2022, the Climate Hackathon Challenge motivated students to explore innovative ideas to combat climate change through seven creative tasks. Participants designed climate clocks, proposed solutions for industries, institutions, and individuals, and expressed climate awareness through songs, drama, and T-shirt art. The event fostered creativity, responsibility, and a strong commitment toward environmental sustainability.

6. The Department of EEE celebrated National Energy Conservation Day on 14.12.2022 with great enthusiasm. A seminar on Innovation in Energy Conservation Technologies was conducted to enhance students’ knowledge on modern energy-saving methods. Students also presented posters to create awareness about energy conservation at the domestic level.

7. A special lecture on Fabrication of Electric Bikes of Different Capacities was conducted on 11.02.2023 for EEE and Mechatronics students. Mr. Gav Boomi from SVNIT, Surat explained EV norms, motor and battery selection, controller types, chassis design, weight considerations, and overall bike design. Students also received hands-on exposure with a fabricated electric bicycle, making the session highly informative and practical.

8. The Department of EEE, in association with the Institution of Engineers and Power Projects, conducted an Employability Enhancement Course on “Application of DCS in Industrial Automation” from 09.05.2023 to 13.05.2023.Students learned key concepts such as PLC vs DCS, process control, DCS architecture, redundancy, HMI/SCADA, and the evolution of automation, followed by hands-on industrial training at Infercon Automation Pvt. Ltd., Chennai.A total of 22 students from EEE and Mechatronics participated, gaining valuable practical exposure to industrial automation systems.

9. The Department of EEE and the Adhavan Energy Swaraj Club organized a “Climate Clock Assembly” event on 19.08.2023 for school and polytechnic students. A total of 231 students participated and learned about climate change and renewable energy. A hands-on session was conducted to assemble the climate clock, and the completed models were handed over to the respective institutions.

10. The Department of EEE, in association with the IIC, celebrated Renewable Energy Day on 22.08.2023 with a brainstorming session and the idea-pitching event “Pitch It Perfect.” Students actively participated, preparing pitch decks on renewable energy innovations. Five shortlisted teams presented ideas on smart energy use, battery management, and energy meters. Two teams were selected as winners and were felicitated with certificates.

11. The Department of EEE, in association with the Institute Innovation Council and APJ Abdul Kalam Aero Vehicle Innovation Technology Club, celebrated Innovation Day on 18–19 October 2023. Various technical exhibits, model/poster presentations, and activity-based learning events were conducted across departments. Students actively participated in quizzes, hands-on activities, and idea-pitching competitions, showcasing innovative projects like self-charging e-bikes, AI-based solutions, and ISRO-themed models. Winners from each event were felicitated with certificates, promoting creativity and interdisciplinary learning.

12. The Department of EEE, AVIT, organized a DST-SERB sponsored five-day national seminar on “Digital Twin for Sustainable Energy Management” from 1st to 5th April 2024. Experts, including Dr. L. Chitra and industry leaders, delivered sessions on Digital Twin concepts, DCS, IIoT, and hands-on training in Comos Lab. Participants gained insights into real-time monitoring, optimization, and sustainable energy solutions through interactive lectures and practical exercises. The seminar concluded with a valedictory function and certificate distribution, recognizing the active engagement of all attendees.

13. The Department organized an Advanced Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Digital Twin for Smart Manufacturing: Applications and Its Challenges” from November 25 to December. The programme focused on recent advancements, industrial applications, and emerging challenges in digital twin technology. Faculty participants gained valuable insights into smart manufacturing practices and future research opportunities.

15. The Department of EEE and AVIT Alumni Association conducted an Alumni Guest Workshop on “Efficient Battery Cell Packaging” on 27 July 2025 at the Siemens Integrated Engineering Lab. Mr. R. Anandhan, alumnus and ISMO Bio-photonics expert, explained advanced battery storage technologies, thermal management, and modern packaging methods. Around 35 students benefited from the interactive session, gaining insights into innovations in energy systems and electric mobility.

16. The Department of EEE organized a guest lecture by Mr. Shebeer Mohammed, Founder & CEO of enRobosys Pvt. Ltd., who shared expert insights on energy storage systems and renewable energy integration.The session covered storage technologies, grid challenges, real-world applications, and future research opportunities, engaging around 45 student and faculty participants. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, appreciating the speaker and management for enabling an informative and interactive knowledge-sharing session.

17. The Department of EEE, AVIT, organized a two-day workshop on “Practical Insights into Grid-Connected Solar PV System” on 19–20 August 2025, featuring Mr. Devendra Singh from Ecosense Sustainable Solutions. Students received in-depth training on PV system design, grid synchronization, and later gained hands-on experience through experiments on solar modules and grid-integration setups. The workshop provided valuable practical exposure, strengthened understanding of renewable energy technologies, and received highly positive feedback from all participants.

18. The Department of EEE, in association with the AVIT Alumni Association, organized an Alumni Guest Lecture on “Corporate Ethics: Building Trust in a Competitive World” on 12 September 2025, delivered by alumnus Mr. Vignesh T from IQVIA, Chennai. He shared his corporate experiences and emphasized the importance of ethics, integrity, teamwork, and trust-building in achieving long-term professional success. The interactive session was well-received and motivated students to adopt strong ethical values and prepare for real-world corporate challenges.

19. The Department of EEE organized a one-day workshop on “Advancements in Fuel Cell Technology for Academic Research,” featuring Mr. Ajay Rai from Ecosense Sustainable Solutions, New Delhi. The session covered advanced catalysts, improved electrolytes, hydrogen storage, system durability, renewable integration, and simulation tools, along with an online demonstration. With over 23 participants, the workshop provided valuable insights into cutting-edge fuel cell technologies and their applications in academic research.

20. A team of 11 EEE students visited the Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy facility in Nellore on 26.08.2025, where they received safety instructions and an overview of the wind turbine blade manufacturing process. They learned about advanced models like the SG 3.4-145 and G114-2.0 MW, modular design features, AEP improvements, and additional products such as converters, generators, and control cabinets. The visit concluded with guidance from senior officials, who emphasized skill development and conceptual learning for future professional growth.

21. The Department of EEE, AVIT, organized its school-level technical symposium “EDU CLUSTERS 2K25” on 14 October 2025, providing a vibrant platform for students to showcase creativity, innovation, and technical skills. Over 300 students from various schools participated in events such as Robot Race, Tech Expo, Tech Quiz, App Pitch, and several cultural activities, creating an energetic and engaging atmosphere across the campus. The symposium concluded with a valedictory ceremony, where St. Mary’s Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Mamallapuram, won the overall championship trophy.
